Driven by Purpose
Our founder, Eddie Fuentes, began his journey in the oil and gas industry in 1994 in Skellytown, Texas, where he was tasked with overseeing safety; largely because he spoke Spanish.
It didn’t take long for him to recognize the communication gap that existed between safety training and true safety understanding, especially in bilingual environments.
That understanding became a mission in 1998, after a life-changing event: Eddie’s father was severely injured in a farming accident due in part to a lack of proper safety training and language barriers. It was a turning point. Eddie committed himself full-time to the field of safety, pursuing a Bachelor's in Mechanical and Electrical Technology and later a Master's in Occupational Safety and Health.
What began as bilingual training in oil and gas evolved into a comprehensive safety consultancy. First under the name Lone Star Safety in 2009, and later as Eclipse Safety Specialists in 2013. Since then, we’ve built Eclipse to serve small to mid-sized companies who need experienced, flexible safety professionals but may not be able to justify a full-time safety coordinator on staff.
Knowing safety rules is not enough; we ensure your team understands them, applies them, and benefits from them.
